Immelmann is a Massachusets-based graphic artist, and is the author and artist of Concession. His sporadic resume includes visual arts, web design, music, voice acting, and animation. He created Concession as a way to vent his frustration with customers he met when he worked at a movie theatre, although he had already quit by the time the comic started.

A furry (regrettably), he has been in and out of the furry fandom for a number of years. He has classified himself as a vast number of different species over his life (this current fursona is estimated to be his 14th iteration), but, hoping to attach a consistent identity to the comic, has settled on a wolf-rabbit hybrid.

Although born and raised as a Christian - a good one, too - he now belongs to no organized religion, instead choosing to follow his own set of beliefs and morals. He is generally liberal in his political beliefs.

His name, "Immelmann", comes from the anime Last Exile, which, in turn, takes the name from the WWI German fighter pilot Max Immelmann. The name was given to him by a good friend and made its first public appearance at Anime Boston 2006.

Dr. Tyras, Ph.D., is Immelmann's pet/familiar/altarboy/psychologist/mobile entertainment system. Usually very quiet and calm, he is often cast as the straight man to contrast Immelmann's insanity or screw-ups, and is sometimes used to frame a reaction to Immelmann's comic.

Immelmann never actually "caught" Tyras; Tyras has been with him since his birth, presumably a gift from his parents, or something gay like that. His original name is lost to antiquity; the name Tyras comes, again, from the WWII fighter pilot, who had a dog named Tyras.
